Application Process

To receive EZ tax credits as a contribution project, businesses and organizations must complete both pre-certification and certification steps each year:

Step 1: Pre-Certification
You must be pre-certified before making eligible investments or hiring staff. Pre-certification is valid for one calendar year and must be completed before claiming credits.

Step 2: Certification
After the calendar year ends, businesses must submit a certification form to confirm that they completed qualifying activities.

Step 3: File with the State
Once certified, include the documentation with your Colorado income tax return to receive the credit.
